If you live in Boston (or anywhere else for that matter) you may want to pause from IMing and texting your friends every now and then to make sure you aren’t about to be robbed! Bostonist is reporting that Sidekick users who are distracted by typing are a target for phone thieves. WBZ TV reports that 23 Sidekicks have been snatched in the last two months from users riding the T (Boston’s subway system).“Basically they have their heads down,” said Transit Police Sgt Michael Rutledge. “They’re not paying attention to their surroundings and people are taking advantage of that opportunity. When the train doors or bus doors open they’ll snatch the cell phone or Sidekick and run off with it.”
So keep an eye out next time you get sucked into an AIM conversation with the hottie you met last night at the club. Before you know it you may have lost her screenname AND your phone.

Don't understand why though...why this type of device. It been out for some time now.
I believe the sidekick has a spot on the device for a wrist lanyard. This will help protect unsuspecting users from theft. Gives the user some leverage by attaching the sikekick to the body! It should only cost like $5, maybe 10 if you want fashion! lol

Mostly younger people have them, and I will admit, it is addictive and I really wasn't paying attention. There are newer models out now though. I was on the bus the other day, and I saw at least 5 people with one, and we all had them out, giving small smiles back and forth... but now I get on, check message, look around, then put it away. I hardly check it unless I have to.

I was thinking about that today on the bus. I had one on there to, but didn't think to put it on... but I will be investing in one VERY SOON! I should design a QT version and market it to other sidekick users so that way they are protected and dont have to go through what I went through.
Now don't you wish you would've received this email a lil more sooner. I hate theives. Why steal lol. Is it my fault you live in poverty and cant afford one lol hell no. Yea the sidekick is addictive. Hell im at work now IMing on mines lol . Ya gots to be more careful
