Morning After...

I feel like I just got off tour.

Here I am, this big huge celebrity Youtuber, creating all these videos to entertain thousands of fans every single week for a year, and it was a great and full filling ride. I got a chance to work with some amazing guys, got to chance to meet other talented people, and really get in-touch with my fans. I got a chance to show people my creativity. I had a chance to dance and entertain and even be funny, which I never thought it would be something I would do. It was a great tour.

Then I woke up from that dream.

Now I am home.
No lights and cameras.
No subscribers.
No SHAWNQT.
No nothing.
Just Shawn.

So here I am blogger. Back home. Seems pretty empty I see. But everything is still where I left it. I just took the time to read some of my past posts. I was really good. I really knew who I was as a person.

Now... not so much.

What is the next step to who I am as a person. Being in the small public eye that I have put myself in was very rewarding and very trying as well. While being apart of the FIVEblackgUys was great, our last couple of weeks was the worst experience with the group. I hate the feeling of working with people that lack integrity, communication and dedication to something that other people feel passionate about. Sometimes I wish I could just put out some creative content and everything be on me, but it wasn't. We had to work as a group, and sometimes it doesn't work like that. But in the end, we all came together and showed people that no matter whatever trials and tribulations we may have had, we created a legacy. But what does hat mean for the group now?

Sometimes being apart of the group put a strain on my relationship and my friendships. I am no longer close with some of my friends, even when I want to be. It was hard to spend time on something for the FIVEblackgUys when Remarkable may have needed my time. I was never good at the balance.

So now that I have awaken from this dream, WHAT'S NEXT?

Single VS Couples

So its been a couple more weeks since I have been at my job and its going pretty well. I just have two more months until I can get those sweet benefits! LOL! I was giving a chance to do the art direction on a major campaign, so Im really excited about that. My old boss now works for a local magazine now, and I even set up a meeting so that my new company can do business with him. Hey, got to look out for the person that gave me a shot. The work environment is pretty good. I like my co-workers so far, and I really don't have anything negative to say about my job, especially since they could probably find my blog at anytime, so you won't see me putting myself out there!

Honestly I have been depressed lately. That's the funny thing about life. When one thing is working extremely well for you, something else goes down the tubes. Now, I know that every relationship has its ups and downs, and I have my fair share of them. Last week. Not a good one. But thats the thing about love. Will you stay around for the bad? Even if both of us are being fools for staying with each other, at least we can say that we both tried, and I think that is important.

I got to hang out with two groups of people last weekend. A group of singles and a group of couples. It was a really interesting dynamic between the both of them.

From my observation (and this is only based on my experiences with the people I met):

Most of the guys were very reserved. Sure there were one or two that keep the jokes coming, but everyone seemed very into themselves. Of course there were conversations about attractive men or finding a date, but overall everyone lived in the moment.

Most of the couples were also very reserved. There were one or two couples that keep the jokes coming, but everyone seemed very preoccupied with either not expressing a previous issue that had with there boyfriend, or tried there hardest not to make an issue at all. Of course there were sly remarks that left some people aggravated but there was also some sexual and playful talk as well.

Overall just because your in a relationship doesn't mean your happy.

So why do single men want relationships? And why don't men in relationships want to be single?

Having a relationship is not the magical thing to pure happiness. I think its about being happy with yourself! At the end of the day, that is what I have to look for, even in my own relationship.

So what can I do?

So I'm sitting here listening to Monica's "Everything to Me," which is an amazing song by the way. I have turned off the lights. Lite a candle. My phone is on silent. Twitter is off. Boyfriend is out... and I am just here with my thoughts and my blog.

With all the videos I have done to enhance my artistic craft and the ability to entertain you guys... it truly has been a "dream in a fitted!" I am just so blessed. I am feeling even more blessed that I finally have the job that I wanted as a Junior Graphic Designer in the Corporate office of a Bank, which I am like super excited about! I got my first check last saturday, and WOW! I never got a check that big before, LOL!

By no means am I rich... but to have the ability to feel comfortable is such a stress reliever. Being unemployed for close to a year has been very very rough. But I learned a lot about things about myself last year. I learned to be a hustler, cause it was about eating at the end of the day. I learned to trust in my talent and continue to smile even when I didn't want to. I learned to trust in GOD and GOD's values because by honoring those you receive positive energy. I learned to praise and pray. Wow I can't believe that I am about to cry.

It has been close to a month now since I got my job and every single day things are changing around me. In my mind I feel like there is a tornado going on. My relationship, friends, family, lifestyle... everything! Not all of it is bad, shoot, I wouldn't even say any of it is bad. Its just change, and I have to go with the flow or be blown away. I have to really focus and have my foot on the ground cause I know that nothing is promised, and anything can be snatched away from me in a second, so I have to stay focused.

One thing I am realizing, especially since I will be 30 next month is that I really need positive people around me. And I don't mean that "play positive bullshit" people give out. I mean I need people that are about something, creating life, here to motivate me and honor my spirit. And I want to do the same for them. I need people that know who they are.

But that is the sad part. Everyone isn't in that place yet. So these people are going to be hard to come by, but hey, it is what it is. I am happy that I am connected to some of those people. Looks like I might have to try and stop being "Superman" and thinking I can save everyone. Oh well...

Me and Mark are doing really well. Man... he has done so much for me I can't thank him enough. I have someone that is not afraid to say they love me. Someone that takes care of me, looks out for me, supports me... especially when I had no money! He would give me his last dollar if he could. I honor that. Now I have to be there for him.

Now I feel that life can now open up for me more then I ever had before. I want to go on vacations and see the world. I want to continue expressing myself creatively... its just a lot that I can't fully even get out in this blog, LOL! But I want to thank everyone that has stuck around to read my blog even with all the videos, LOL!

Ever since I posted this video last Friday, I have been getting a lot of positive & emotional feedback. When the FIVEblackgUys had to do a Public Service Announcement, I knew I wanted to do something on Gay Bashing because of all the stories I have been hearing about, which really saddened me. I don't know how, but I was thinking of Rihanna's Russian Roulette in my head, and it just fitted. When I wrote the video treatment for the video, I actually cried.

There were two things I wanted to showcase, the words that people use to degrade homosexuals, much like the word, "nigger", and also show images of a gay bashing and how similar it is to the beating of African Americans during the Black Civil Rights Movement. I personally don't see no difference. People being hated and incurring violence because they are different then themselves is wrong. Period.

We are all the same as well. If you can feel the pain of our ancestors being beaten, then you can feel the pain of a homosexual just the same. We are all Human. We have to open our minds and spread more LOVE!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to write yesterday, but I will do two post today! Maybe I'm not as bad as I think. I have moments where I break down. Two nights ago was that! After some talk, some sleep and some space... I feel like I'm back on the road to feeling better. When u don't have a job and u feel like u lost your self worth... It effects you on the inside. You feel like u don't deserve things like friendship cause you can't be happy go lucky around them, or you don't have the money to hang... It's a lot. When you see yourself slipping until somebody your not, it hurts.

In other news I had an interview today! I was happy about that, but was scared to share it with people because what if I don't get it? Then people may see me as a failure... And I hate to be that vulnerable. But I know I have to. A lot of people are hurting and even more so then me, so I have to just be positive and if the job is meant to be, they will call. I just have to keep moving...

I feel like I'm in rehab when I type on this thing lol.

Ok so a couple of people have been wondering...

HAS YOUR BLOG TURNED INTO A VIDEO BLOG?

LOL... well no. At least that was not the intent. What has been taking up most of my time is looking for a job. Being unemployed has made me feel like I don't have a contribution to this world. I know that is not the case, but that is how I have been feeling. But I stay on my grind and stay busy.

Being part of the FIVEblackgUys has helped me to contain my creative side, and I appreciate that a lot! I really enjoy the two new members... shout out to Marco and Dyvon! I really think we are on the fast track to making a movement. I have a strong passion for video editing now, and I never thought I would! So YEAH ME!

Me and Remarkable are doing very well. He has a whole new set of friends that he is really happy about, so they come over, chill... eat. Whatever! I play happy Housewife for a change, LOL. I have lost contact with some of my friends for various reasons. Sometimes I feel like they don't want to hang out with me because I'm unemployed. Sometimes I feel they don't want to hang out with me because they have to pick me up for us to chill. Sometimes I feel that they are into there own problems to really worry about mine. No matter what it is, I still care about them a lot, and that will never leave. I guess once I have my job, I will have more energy to be "SHAWN" again.

Im going to post again tommorrow, cause I do want to start writing again, it may be shorter then usual, but we will see...

Today, I tRansfOrmed.

I had a couple of meetings with a lot of people about job employment and Freelance opportunities. This week was the beginning of my grind and hustle to have my talent really work for me. Not only my design talent but also my talent to touch people and inspire. The Meetings went well!

On the flip side, Im not going to be making the money I used to... yet, but my plan is to use my time and work in a small amount of time, and get paid for what Im worth, yah dig?

Time to let the stars align... even if I have to sacrfice for awhile. God reassured me that if I stay focused then God will make things happen and I will be tRansfOrmed into the person I need to be!

On another note, The FIVEblackguys will also be going through a tRansfOrmation. I love what we do as a group, and love making videos, and its important that we all have enough energy to inspire, so there will soon come a new era in creativity! We all love each other, and no matter what we will still support and be there for each other!

Hope everyone is doing good! Remarkable and are doing very well! He is working on trying to find his niche and creativity as well... you know, I try and do what ever I can, but a man has to find his own destiny!

Why haven't I written in my blog in awhile?

I know why.

I don't want people to think I am a failure. This has always been my fear... I guess fear itself. I have been unemployed for a month now. Not only do I have to take care of myself, but my loved one as well. I hate going to my friends because either they going through the same thing I'm going through, or I'm ashamed because I feel like because I'm unemployed I will be looked down upon.

So I'm listening to Trey Songz and Drake song "Successful." Talk about a song that really hitting me hard. Reminds me of Trey's first song "Gotta Make It." I feel like I have enough talent and enough drive to really do my passion... but I have to prove it.

Because the economy is so bad, I have to be even more creative then those that trying to get the same position I'm going for. It's hard. It is starting to effect everything, my relationship, family & friends... and I'm not the type of person to really sulk and be pissed at situations.

What I'm learning now is to take "RISK." I have always been the kind of person to play it safe, but it can only get you to so many places. I need to create my own LEAP OF FAITH... and even if I fall a couple of times, there has to be one time that somebody will catch me!

Heavenly father, please sustain my spirit as I search for new and meaningful work. You have blessed me with a healthy body and a keen mind for which I am grateful. I ask that you open my path as I seek employment that will allow me to support my family and myself while serving others and your divine purpose. In gratitude and grace, Amen.

...Ok so we in the jeep (I said van before, but that wasn't it) and my best friend was driving, his boy was in the passenger seat, and I was in the back, just chillin. Then after awhile Brick was paying more attention to me then my best friend. As soon as I noticed, I tried to go over to him and he got out of the bed, and just left me and Brick alone. At first I was getting into it more, but really felt bad, so I got out the bed myself and just decided to put my clothes on.

So Here is Brick on the bed jerking off, trying to get me and my best friend to play with him again, and we just look at him like, "nah we cool." Even though I wanted to finish so bad! My best friend is writing on a small pad that was on the night stand, and then asks Brick to come into the bathroom with him. They was in there for a good long while. So then my noisy azz goes over to read what my best friend wrote on the pad.

So he states that:

"How dare try and steal his man"

and he

"wishes I didn't come on the trip at all!"

At this point I was so hurt! I walked out the room to try and calm down. Why would he let us do all that if he felt some kind of way? I wish somebody just told me the real deal, then we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place!

So I go back into the Hotel Room, and sit down at the desk pissed. Then I picked up the open Black & Milds and took one out. By this time, My best friend and Brick were sitting on the bed. So he tells me, "What are you going to do smoke, you don't even smoke Shawn?"

WELL I SHOULD!!!

AND I THREW THE BLACK AND MILDS RIGHT AT HIS HEAD AND STARTED CURSING HIS ASS OUT!

I was just so upset that I got into the situation, and I was just yelling and he kept telling me to calm down, I was talking about leaving and having my cousin pick me up to take me home and I started crying... it was a lot. The reason why I got so emotional is because in high school, I didn't have a lot of friends, and for me to lose a friend over a dude would have hurt me so bad.

So yeah after they calmed me down. We talked and apologized and everything was cool.

Yet not so cool for Brick cause yeah he was still horny, LOL. Oh well!

When I saw this photo of MJ, it hit me with this powerful truth.

With all the controversy of the color of his skin, MJ dealt with something most of us deal with. Self Image, Self Esteem & Skin issues. From a teenager to this day, I have battled with acne & skin blemishes and my self esteem. For the most part, proactiv as worked wonders, but doesn't solve everything. MJ many times has talked about his acne and how his father and cousins would tease him for his skin, and this was when he was a huge megastar in the Jackson 5!

After the untimely death of Micheal Jackson, I started to looked back on all his videos I used to watch when I was younger. I remember being afraid when THRILLER first came out. Sitting with my family when BLACK OR WHITE premiered, and just talking to family and friends about how big a deal it was to see SCREAM with his sister Janet. It was a time when videos were so CINEMATIC!

As MJ started moving away from the music industry and downloading music has been taken away money from artist, video quality has become less & less. Yet now with Beyonce at the helm, artist are looking at creating smaller budget videos for every song on there album, and use them as a way to bring up album sells in re-releases. Even Day26 is put out 6 videos for there FOREVER IN A DAY album!

I'm like soooo happy!

It was sunday morning, I was laying on the couch, with face cream on my face, stinky and tired as well, and I hear someone opening the door. I look up and I see a figure of a well groomed man, and I'm thinking is that him?

Now mind you, he was suppose to be getting out of Jail on Monday, and I was expecting him to have a full beard with tats and be cock diesel, LOL.

But when I saw it was him, I jumped off the coach right into his arms, and we just hugged each other as long as we could. I just couldn't believe it has been 10 whole days without my baby! I cried, yeah I know, I'm such a sap, but there was just a lot of built in emotion in me. It was hard feeling lonely, and not being able to go to anyone intimately like that. But I made it, and I was just happy he was out early!

We took a shower.

well I talked.

he said he wanted to eat.

we decided to go to ihop.

Some one pointed out that I don't write much on my blog anymore.

And I don't.

Why is that? I blame it on enhanced technology and laziness. Twitter is a easy and fast way to get out what ever random thoughts I may have. This is the laziness is me. I only have to write a sentence without any thought, and bam, there it is. And I get responses much quicker then any comment on my blog.

Youtube is a great way to showcase my creativity. VIDEO is like the new technology of our generation. I mean, what phone doesn't have a camera and video capabilities. I mean you can even edit videos on your Iphone! With VIDEO I can really put visuals and words together in movement.

So now the randomness and creativity of my blog as been divided.

Yet even still, what both of them lack is the ability of free flowing thoughts of words from the heart. I actually write better then speaking, and I actually love to put thoughts into my words. Even though writing letters with a pencil and pen are almost long gone (don't even remember the last time I did that) I will try and keep blogging alive!

I know I am close to 4 months late, but here are the photos of my Birthday Party from March of 2009! I just had to get around to editing them and picking the best ones. I have a lot more, especially som really good solo ones of my friends, so might leave those for another album. I acutally took all these pictures, unless you see me not holding the camera, LOL.

Thanks to everybody that came, it was a lot of people, goodness! I am always happy when people show me love. It really cheered me up tonight since I'm still feeling down about Remarkable. Hopefully I will be able to go visit him tommorrow. We will see, in any case, ENJOY!

WHAT HAPPEN TO REMARKABLE?

I never had to go through something like this before. But as always, whenever I want to get some emotions out of my system, I come to my blog. On top of that, it makes it easier to tell one story instead of saying it over and over again to different people (especially when it is hard to deal with).

The first week I met Remarkable was one of the greatest weeks of my life. I think the 5th day, he called me that morning, and said that he got into a car accident. Of course I asked him if he was ok, and he was. Bad thing was, he got into a car accident. He was coming from a party with his cousin and his friends, and his cousin (who owned the car) was too drunk, so Remarkable became the designated driver. While no one was hurt in the accident, he was caught driving on a suspended license.

Months later, and court date after court date, today he was sentenced to 10 days in jail.

He called me crying from the court room, and I was just in shock. It is crazy because MJ just passed and now I'm dealing with my boyfriend going to jail. It's a lot. While 10 days is not long, NOBODY wants to spend there time there. His job could be in jeopardy when he gets out, and the fine is no joke. We just have to make it through.

I just miss him, and hope that I get a chance to talk to him again soon. I have been praying heavy, and we made a pact to think about each other and pray at 9:22 each day (our anniversary date).

Babe I love you, and I will be here when you get out.

I forgot what this was all about, what I was all about. everyday Im either working, working on trying to get work, working on my relationship, trying to work on my friendships, filming a video, editing a video, promoting a video or trying to come up with an idea for a video, and i keep forgetting.

i focused so much energy on what I look like, either trying to look good, or trying to look better. trying to hide my imperfections or acting like im perfect. trying to please others, trying to hide insecurities.

i forgot.

that even though you have honored me with oppurtunities, and got me out of situations, and protected me, and sent me blessings, and motivated me, and loved me for me.

i forgot.

I miss you. I feel guilty for missing you because, you never left, I just ignored you. I can't continue walking on this journey without knowing you are here with me. you made me to inspire me to inspire others. you are so beautiful to me.

and yes

i'm crying because I am sad, and because I am happy. the greatest gift is hope for better. even when I am down, and feel like an underdog, and feel like i don't deserve any of this... you know that I DO.

So in just 24 Hours, my reaction video to "Sexy Spec's" ummm... Dance Challenge has reached over 5,500 views! It was even featured on two gossip websites! I mean its been crazy! Overall, most of the comments have been relating to the comedic aspect of the video, but I have also got some very homophobic comments not only towards Sexy Spec himself, but us as well!

I for one take everything with my funny bone intact cause some of the comments were just ridiculous. All and all, to me it was pure comedy!

But this experience brings up an interesting question. Sexy Spec has already went on the radio to state that he is "not gay, and that the video was just for the ladies." All we can do is take his word for it right?

So then, what makes this video so GAY?

IS IT BECAUSE HE IS A PRETTY RICKY?

There is no doubt about it, Spectacular is a pretty dude! Light skin, braided hair, well groomed. No one can't disagree he is a cutie, but does him being "pretty" make him gay? There are plenty of "pretty" guys that are heterosexual. Wouldn't a women want someone that is attractive?

Now we all know that there are a million straight dudes that grind on YouTube. I have passed by a couple in my day! What makes what he did any different that any other dude? I mean truth be told, Omarion, Chris Brown and Day26 have grinded on stage before. Spectacular does this kind of dancing on stage all the time for the ladies, why is this any different?

Ok lets tackle the Briefs first. Sure we can argue that boxers are more manly then briefs, but all in all, any men gay or straight can wear any kind of underwear they want! We all have a pair in our drawers. I think women find both underwear sexy, right? So is it the color? Is the color to gay? Is there such thing as a gay color? I mean they weren't rainbow right? And red does symbolize sexiness? If we saw any other man in red briefs would it be a problem? Wouldn't the ladies like a man in some sexy red briefs?

We all know how hard it is to promote a musical project in this day in age... was this just a good marketing scheme?
